Play. Learn. Preserve.
WMI believes that everyone who lives within view of the Wasatch Mountains should have a connection with them. WMI programs connect children, families, and communities to the wonder, recreational, and educational opportunities of the outdoors. By playing and learning in the Wasatch Mountains, people will develop a sense of place that inspires them to steward the water, forest, and recreational resources of the Wasatch Mountains.
At Wasatch Mountain Institute, we focus on serving Title I schools in Salt Lake City and Park City, ensuring that students from underserved communities have access to transformative outdoor education.
We are dedicated to breaking down financial and logistical barriers so that every child, regardless of socioeconomic background, can experience hands-on, STEM-based learning in the natural world.
Our programs at Rock Cliff Nature Center are designed to inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and nurture a deep connection to the environment.
By prioritizing Title I schools, WMI empowers students with opportunities that build confidence, ignite a love for science and nature, and prepare them to become thoughtful stewards of the world around them.
